The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has denied allowing Dome Kwabenya MP to skip Parliament.
He stated he hasn’t given the Minister of Gender and Children any such approval, for health or otherwise.
The Speaker clarified that he does not decide who is present or absent in the House, but that the processes do.
“I didn’t give her permission to leave Parliament for health reasons. I want it known that I have never given such an interview. I’ve never stated anything like that.”
As a result, she is absent without authorization for all those days. On the surface of the House’s proceedings. The Speaker does not decide who is present or absent.”
“The aims and procedures will catch people who are present, absent, or with permission,” Mr. Bagbin said on the House Floor on Thursday.
