The Minister for Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has announced the arrival of the first batch of students from Ukraine today, Tuesday, March 1st.
The information minister took to his Twitter and tweeted, “This morning the first batch of Ghanaians evacuated from Ukraine arrive in Accra.”

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Shirley Ayorkor Botchway had earlier indicated that over 220 Ghanaians living in Ukrain were expected to arrive in Ghana soon.
“I am pleased to inform you that, a good number, over 220 of our compatriots have exited Ukraine and should be with us in Ghana soon, and we are earnestly facilitating the safe return of a lot more”.
She also mentioned that over 460 students are already in transit to neighboring countries like Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
