Ghana Election 2020: President Akufo-Addo has made an explosive statement, claiming that, enemies of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government wanted Free SHS students who just sat for the final examination to fail.
The first Free SHS batch finished their West Africa Senior school Certificate Examination (WASSCE) this year, 2020.
According to President Akufo-Addo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and their leader John Dramani Mahama wished for a tremendous fail for the student who just finished their WASSCE exams.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Angel FM, President Akfuo-Addo said;
“I think he (John Mahama) has come to realize that not only did the policy worked, but per their (students) results which were released recently you could see that there were some Ghanaians in the name of politics, who wished the children had failed. Can you believe that people have that kind of attitude towards the development of our country; that a whole generation of students must fail to make sure that the policy is discredited.”
The President added, “But God being so good it didn’t happen that way; on the contrary, the performance of the children is an outstanding performance this year.”
Mr. Akufo-Addo rather said the WASSCE has vindicated the NPP government against the accusation of poor implementation of the Free SHS by the NDC.
