A California man was arrested for allegedly feeding poisoned meals to eight homeless individuals — then filming them writhe in pain for his personal twisted amusement, based on a report.

William Robert Cable, 38, of San Andreas, allegedly instructed victims they have been taking part in a “spicy food challengethroughout a string of assaults within the seaside town of Huntington Beach in mid-May, in accordance with the Orange County Register.

As an alternative, he gave them meals laced with a caustic substance derived from chilies that’s twice as strong as pepper spray — causing them to undergo seizure-like signs, difficulty breathing and intense stomach ache, prosecutors stated, based on the paper.

“These human beings have been preyed upon because they’re weak,” stated Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer.

“They have been exploited and poisoned as a part of a twisted type of leisure, and their ache was recorded in order that it could possibly be relived by their attacker time and again,” he stated.

Cable allegedly gave a few of the victims beer to entice them to eat the meal, and a number of others have been hospitalized afterward, prosecutors stated. That they had no clue the meals were laced with a substance referred to as oleoresin capsicum.

The mayor of Huntington Seashore, Lyn Semeta, expressed outrage over the disturbing assault, saying, “The merciless nature of those crimes shocks the conscience.”

Cable was charged with eight counts of poisoning and faces the most 19 years and three months behind bars. He’s being held on $500,000 bail.

Prosecutors stated there is no such thing as an indication he deliberates to publicly share or promote the video footage, the Orange County Register studies.
