According to the Asantehene, the national cathedral will help increase the spiritual growth and unity of Ghana.
The National Cathedral is a project that provides an infrastructure for the formal religious activities of the nation, like state funerals and presidential inaugural services. It is this national character that distinguishes it from the other Cathedrals in the country.
The Asantehene said this in a speech that was read on his behalf by Asafohene, Asafo Boakye Agyemang Bonsu at the Kumasi edition of the fundraising exercise organized by the Board of Trustees, National Cathedral.
“We are a religious nation, therefore the monumental structure is expected to add up to the gains made.. to promote solidarity, unity and harmony amongst the people” – The note read.
