30 Senegalese citizens who have been put over by a travel agency in Ghana that promised them a job have appealed to the government of Ghana to allow them to go back to their country.

Speaking to Elisha Adarkwa, a correspondent of Accra Fm, in Kumasi, they explained that, several attempts to get their money back so they could return to their country have proved futile, and that even when the police arrested those involved in the dupery, they released them without their consent.

“Our stay here isn’t easy. We are behind the eight-ball and cannot even fend for ourselves. We’ve always had a falling-out since our arrival because we keep blaming each other for the dupery. On three occasions, our premises were ruined by policemen. As if that wasn’t enough, we were flogged in addition. We believe that the police have conjured with the workers of Network Business Firm involved in the dupery to embezzle our funds. When we took legal actions against them, we were told that we won’t get our money back although we had a right.”
“We are pleading on the government to help us retrieve our money so we go back to our country when the borders are reopened.”
