Asamoah Gyan has stated that he has not retired from football and that he still has unfinished business on the pitch.
Since the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, where he represented his country, he hasn’t played for Ghana.
While appearing as an analyst on SuperSport TV, Gyan stated that he has not retired, but that he must reduce weight before he can resume active participation in football.
“I haven’t resigned from my position yet. I must reduce weight and be physically active before doing so, and he must train on a consistent basis week in and week out.
My physical appearance is still in good shape, and I still have a lot to offer in terms of intellectual and social contributions. Everything is in order in terms of intelligence, and everything is in order in terms of physical readiness, but I do not believe I am physically ready at this moment. “I need to work on improving my physical fitness.”
Asamoah Gyan is currently employed by SuperSport as a football analyst for the ongoing African Football Confederation (AFCON) tournament in Cameroon.
