A nine year old pupil of the Wiamoase Junior High School, in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, Abena Abayie who has been the senior student in her class since KG has committed suicide by stabbing after being assaulted sexually by 3 teenagers.
The teenagers, Kwasi Prempeh 18, Akoto Nketiah 17, and Ofori Mensah 17, who happens to be the son of the chief inspector of Wiamoase were reported to have been keeping tabs on the young girl’s movement for some time now.
According to her, they paid her a visit when her dad travelled claiming that her father asked them to keep watch over her while he was away. They took advantage of her achilles heel, set her at bay and raped her. Unfortunately for her, the case was settled at home, because the police related with one of the rapist.
Her father, Opanin Preko who is a single parent explained that, he sent his doctor to the hospital after he noticed some changes in her. Upon arrival, it was confirmed by the doctor that his daughter had been raped.
He further stated that he had been both a mother and father to his daughter, since the death his wife died. He added that, his daughter committed suicide because she could not stand the vexes of his fellow young ones.
