A family is bereaved after a 53 year old, Yaw Simon who is a hunter in Appiahnkrom, Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region, committed suicide right after killing their beloved 40 year old daughter who happened to be his ex wife.
According to reports, the family of his then wife, Patience refused his offer to pay her bride price and officially and legally recognize him as her wife for reasons best known to them.
At a point, Patience herself lost interest in the marriage and decided to come clean before him. The man got triggered after the revelation and followed Patience and her friend, Pokua Mary to the farm when they had no knowledge about it.
Yaw Simon pulled a trigger in the farm after Patience had made revelations to her friend of the kind of man she called a husband. Patience and Yaw Simon got into a bitter argument at the farm.
He shot her dead when he couldn’t contain it anymore. After his search for Mary, Patience’s who was hiding in the bush for fear of her dear life proved futile, he shot himself as well to prevent being taken to police custody.
Their bodies have been taken to the Dormaa Presbyterian hospital.
