Ghana’s best rapper Sarkodie says its been ten years in the game and he is still independent.
Sarkodie began his career as an underground rapper participating in Adom FM’s rap competition Kasahare Level.
In an interview with African Voices he spoke on monetizing entertainment in Africa.
He said, “We are losing out on a lot of money as a continent, we’re just focusing on the obvious stuff which is cool, but entertainment brings a lot of cash that we are letting go.
“We are not monetizing entertainment. And I know as it always happen, people come from outside to do it. Its only right that we can take charge of it.
“That’s definitely my space of mind, like at this point that’s what am thinking about. There are a few things that every artiste especially as independent as I am…”
