The Rebecca Foundation, which was established on January 2017 by H.E Rebecca Akufo-Addo is a foundation set to complement the efforts of government by undertaking supporting and promoting initiatives, that improve the economic status of women and enhancing literacy and learning skills in children, and improving environmental health and sanitation by greening public spaces.
The hostel which is named after her (The Rebecca Akuffo- Addo/GHAPACC Sunshine House) was commissioned this morning, 10th November 2021 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for children that have been diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The First Lady stated in a post “it took a while to complete this hostel because it was not always easy to find the finances to do so. Today the sunshine hostel is standing and I give glory to the Lord”. She also showed appreciation by commending all who encouraged and supported her including her husband, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
