A 31-year-old trader who lives in Tamale but works at Salaga in the Northern Region has been identified as the first coronavirus patient in the Savannah Region.
Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye, the Director-General of the Ghana Health Services who disclosed this at a press conference in Accra said the man is responding to treatment.
12 people who got in contact with the man have been identified using enhanced contact tracing, he noted
The Savannah Region is the 14th region out of the 16 regions in Ghana to record a case of the deadly virus.
In the meantime, Ghana’s case count has risen to 6904 with 2097 recoveries.
