Captain Smart was arrested on December 2,2021 for pronouncements that were deemed as threatening to Ghana’s peace and security.
The court has adjourned his case to January 11, 2022.
Captain Smart,who’s actual name is Blessed Godsbrain Smart and a TV presenter for Onua TV has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 after he pleaded not guilty to the charge of offensive conduct.
In a statement, the police said Smart was arrested after certain pronouncements that can disrupt the peace and security of Ghana.He was released on that same day.
When he appeared before the Kaneshie District Court, he was charged with offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).
He was granted a bail of GH¢100,000 with one surety. Additionally, he is expected to report to the police station every Tuesday and Friday.
The case has been adjourned to January 11, 2022.
